I work as a freelance multimedia journalist in South Africa, where I’m based in Pretoria, the administrative capital at less than an hours drive from Johannesburg. My specialization is video reporting, but I write, shoot photo’s and do radio as well. Before coming to South Africa I was based in Dakar, Senegal, from where I covered West Africa and beyond. My foremost clients are Al Jazeera English, Reuters, Trouw, NBC, CNN, and AFP. In 2022 I was part of the Al Jazeera English team that won the Covering Climate Now Journalism Award in the category Daily Coverage.
